Episode 86. The Academic Job Market – Campus Visit with Jose Sanchez and Jenn Tostlebe

It’s Episode 86 and Jose and Jenn speak about their campus visit experiences. Having both secured academic jobs, we share examples, questions, and advice from our own job market times in 2022 (Jenn) and 2023 (Jose).

Jose Sanchez is a Doctoral Candidate in the Sociology department at the University of Colorado Boulder. He went through the academic job market cycle this year — 2023 — and recently secured a job at Texas Christian University, where he will be starting in Fall 2024! His research interests are gangs and criminal networks, criminological theory and international comparative criminology

Jennifer Tostlebe is an Assistant Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She went through the academic job market cycle last year — 2022. Her research concentrates on institutional corrections, criminological theory, mental and physical health, and gangs.
