Erin Tinney is is a doctoral candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her primary research interests are in labeling theory, the intersection of the education and legal systems, consequences of adolescent contact with the criminal legal system, and queer criminology. Her dissertation investigates the impacts of juvenile justice system contact on educational outcomes for youth in Maryland. During her free time, she enjoys reading, playing cornhole, and trying new restaurants in DC..
