Crime in rural places. In this episode we speak with Professor Walter DeKeseredy about his work on rural criminology and woman abuse in rural places.
Walter is Anna Deane Carlson Endowed Chair of social sciences, Director of the Research Center on Violence, and professor of sociology at West Virginia University. He has published 26 books, over 100 refereed journal articles, and 90 scholarly book chapters on issues such as woman abuse, rural criminology, and criminological theory. In 2015, he received the Career Achievement Award from the American Society of Criminology’s Division on Victimology. In 2017, he received the Impact Award from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences’ section on Victimology and the Robert Jerrin Book Award from the American Society of Criminology’s Division on Victimology.
