Martin is an Assistant Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Director of the Hate Crime Research and Policy Institute at Florida State University. His research focuses on hate crime, violence, and victimization, and has been funded by the National Science Foundation and Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), among others. His published work has appeared in a number of research outlets, such as Social Problems, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Justice Quarterly, and Psychology of Violence.
