Is one question enough? In this episode we speak with Professors Chantal Fahmy and Meghan Mitchell about their work on the reentry of formerly incarceration individuals and a holistic model of health and wellbeing.
Chantal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine; her Master’s degree from California State University, Long Beach; and her PhD from Arizona State University. Her research focuses on reentry and reintegration from prison, health criminology, social support, and the health-related consequences of incarceration. Her work has been published in Social Science & Medicine, Criminal Justice & Behavior, Journal of Quantitative Criminology, Preventive Medicine, and Sociological Methods & Research, among others.
Meghan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of North Dakota. She received her BS and MS from North Dakota State University and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. Her current work examines the areas of corrections, subcultures, and research methodologies. She has published in the British Journal of Criminology, Justice Quarterly, Journal of Experimental Criminology, Journal of Quantitative Criminology, Criminal Justice & Behavior, Sociological Methods & Research, Journal of Criminal Justice, British Medical Journal Open, and the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health among other places.
